The activities listed below are designed to enhance the language skills of students enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Social Sciences and Digital Data. There are two distinct courses:

  • Laboratorio di Lingua Italiana – mandatory for international students.

  • Academic English: Speaking and Writing – mandatory for Italian students and open to international students who wish to improve their academic English skills.

Laboratorio di Lingua Italiana

To achieve a Master's degree in Italy, it is necessary to have knowledge of the Italian language, as mandated by current regulations.
Through attendance of courses offered by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo - CLA (University Language Centre), the fundamentals of the Italian language will be provided to those who are not native Italian speakers.
Those who have previous knowledge of Italian will be offered more advanced courses, based on the guidelines established by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo - CLA (University Language Centre).
All information for enrolling in CLA courses and registering for the language proficiency test is provided on the Moodle page of the Master's Degree Course in Social Sciences and Digital Data.

This activity is mandatory for international students and is offered by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA). The aim of this activity is to provide the fundamentals of the Italian language to international students, supporting them during their stay in Padua.

For students with prior knowledge of Italian, more advanced activities will be offered, depending on the level determined by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA).

Enrollment and Credit Registration Instructions for Lingua Italiana:

Step 1: Enroll in one of the Italian language activities offered by the CLA (/italian-courses-international-students/) -> Italian Language Ability Test (TAL) – A2 Level (with Preparation Course, 30 hours)

Step 2: Attend the course and take the Italian Language Ability Test at the end. Once you pass the test, the CLA will issue a certificate confirming your completion.

Step 3: All students who pass the TAL and are therefore deemed eligible will receive an Open Badge, which will automatically generate the recognition of credits (CFU) in the student’s academic record.

Please note: This is the only official method to register your credits for this activity.

Academic Writing
