Completing the study plan online is a necessary step in order to populate the academic booklet with the courses included in the degree programme. This allows for proper exam registration and grading.

The study plan must be completed according to the selection rules established by the Didactic Regulations - Annex 3 of the degree programme valid for the student’s year of enrolment. Annex 3 can be viewed on the Course Catalogue page for your degree programme.

As stated in the Student Academic Career Regulations (Art. 20, paragraph 6), students are required to submit their study plan by December, and in any case before the winter exam session.

All activities included in the plan will contribute to the calculation of the grade average (GPA) used to determine the final degree classification.

Once the final graduation application has been submitted, no further changes to the study plan are allowed.

 

Who must complete the study plan

>All students enrolled in the academic years 2026/27 and 2025/26 are required to complete their study plan online during the period in which the procedure is open.

Students enrolled in previous academic years may also complete or modify their study plan. Students enrolled in 2024/25 or earlier who wish to modify a previously submitted plan, must request its reopening by writing to: didattica.dissgea@unipd.it.

 

Types of Study Plan

There are two types of study plans:

  • Automatic Plan
  • Proposed Plan (subject to approval by the Course President)

Automatic Plan

When to complete the plan
For the academic year 2026/27, the single submission period is from 2 November 2026 to 30 September 2027.

How to complete the plan
 The Master's Degree Programme offers two automatically approved study tracks

Track 1 – Mobilities Across Space

Track 2 – Mobilities Across Time

To complete the study plan, please visit www.uniweb.unipd.it, click on "Didattica" and then "Piano di studio". For step-by-step instructions, please consult the online guide available at the following link.

The plan may be modified within the above-mentioned period and, in any case, no later than the submission of the graduation application.

This is an automatically approved plan: by following the guided procedure, students must select both the mandatory and elective courses as specified in Annex 3. .After confirmation, if the plan has been correctly completed, it will be automatically approved, and no further approval by the Course President will be necessary.

 

Proposed Plan (subject to approval by the Course President)

When to complete the plan
For the academic year 2026/27, the study plan must be completed between:2 November 2026 and 31 December 2026.A second window (only for modifications) will open from 1 March 2027 to 31 May 2027.

How to complete the plan
To complete the study plan, please visit www.uniweb.unipd.it, click on "Didattica" and then "Piano di studio". For step-by-step instructions, please consult the online guide available at the following link. The plan may be modified during the indicated periods and, in any case, no later than the submission of the graduation application. By following the guided procedure, students must select both the mandatory and elective courses as outlined in the description of the curriculum for students enrolled in A.Y. 2026/27. After confirmation, if the plan has been correctly completed, it will have the status "Proposed" and will be reviewed and possibly approved by the Course President. The outcome of the evaluation will be visible directly online.

 

Free Choice Credits

When completing the study plan, students must select their free choice credits. These are courses totaling 12 ECTS credits, which students may choose from courses within their curriculum not previously selected and/or any courses offered within the Master’s Degree Programmes of the School of Human, Social and Cultural Heritage Sciences and from the Department of Political Science, Law, and International Studies (SPGI)

Students are encouraged to choose the courses and exams indicated in the Welcome Kit (pp. 10 and following) for their free choice credits. These should relate to the topic they plan to explore in their thesis, as this will strengthen their academic preparation and ease their transition into the professional world.
Please note: Courses offered outside the University of Padua cannot be selected as free choice credits.
Free choice credits must be included in both the automatic and proposed study plans.
