EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR GRADUATION THESES

The creation of the graduation thesis can follow two distinct models:

Model 1 - Thesis/Research Project:
Work with a research character, in-depth and with the application of an adequate research method, with original content and an extensive and appropriate bibliography. The indicative length of the work can be between 120 and 200 pages.

Evaluation: from 0 to 5 points + 1 bonus point if on time and/or with Erasmus

Model 2 - Thesis/Compilation Project:
Work that presents an extensive report on a case study or internship activity, with a research method and originality of content of modest contribution and with a limited bibliography. The indicative length of the work can be between 60 and 120 pages.

Evaluation: from 0 to 3 points + 1 bonus point if on time and/or with Erasmus

Notes:

  • The supervisor has the task of explaining to the graduate student and the committee whether the thesis work carried out falls into type 1 or 2.

  • Any research project (computer, audiovisual or multimedia) must be accompanied by a written paper of a historical-theoretical and/or methodological nature. The indicative length of the written paper accompanying the project is equal to 50% of the thesis (type 1 or type 2).

  • Awarding of honors: if the overall score (starting grade + thesis points + any bonus points) is equal to or greater than 110, the co-supervisor may propose honors. Honors must be awarded unanimously by the committee.

These criteria and related evaluations replace the previous ones and are considered in force from January 26, 2026.
