Il voto finale di laurea si esprime in centodecimi. Il punto di partenza è il punteggio raggiunto dal laureando attraverso gli esami sostenuti: la media dei voti conseguiti in trentesimi, ponderando ciascun voto proporzionalmente al numero di crediti associato, viene trasformata in centodecimi (è la cosiddetta "media ponderata").

A questo punteggio si aggiungono i punti che la Commissione di laurea attribuisce al lavoro di tesi fino ad un massimo di 5 punti, tenendo conto anche del buon esito della discussione. Se la somma dei due punteggi raggiunge 110/110, la Commissione può decidere, all'unanimità, di attribuire la lode.

The final degree grade is expressed out of one hundred and ten (110). The starting point is the score achieved by the graduating student through the exams taken: the average of the grades obtained (out of thirty), weighted proportionally by the number of credits associated with each exam, is converted into a score out of one hundred and ten (this is the so-called "weighted average").

To this score, the Degree Committee adds the points awarded for the thesis work, up to a maximum of 5 points, also taking into account the successful outcome of the thesis defense. If the sum of the two scores reaches 110/110, the Committee may unanimously decide to award honors (cum laude).
