These classes are meant to give students a first knowledge of the main authors and texts of English literature between the thirteenth and the fifteenth centuries, through the practice of reading and analyzing a selection of texts in Middle English. We shall also study issues and topics that are central to late medieval English culture. Through these classes students shall acquire the ability to read and analyze texts in Middle English.
