On behalf of the Lancaster Historical Postgraduate Conference (LHPC) Organising Committee, I’d like to invite your Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers, as well as MA students, to attend this year’s international LHPC conference hosted at Lancaster University.
2025’s LHPC will be exploring ‘Lived Histories: Peoples and Cultures’. Continuing the model set by previous LHPC conferences, we welcome papers from all disciplines, provided they are historical in focus. In today's modern world, it is more important than ever to offer diverse and inclusive histories, as disciplinary divisions continue to reproduce colonial hierarchies in academic research.
Lancaster Historical Postgraduate Conference is a renowned international conference for postgraduates and early career researchers, known for its welcoming atmosphere and high-quality research. The conference provides an opportunity to present research in a supportive environment, as well as offering excellent networking opportunities for speakers. This year marks the 30th anniversary of our conference, and we invite our speakers to be part of this special milestone. Present your research among leading scholars, engage with inspiring keynote lectures, and enjoy exclusive networking opportunities.
This year’s conference will be held on 25th-27th June 2025. We are welcoming abstracts for papers with a deadline of 20th April 2025. We also welcome panel submissions as long as they have a coherent theme. We feel the conference format is particularly appropriate for early career researchers and those with work-in-progress. Head here to submit your abstract.
