È da un po’ che non ci sentiamo.. la vita ha fatto molti giri, ma eccomi qui con delle belle novità. Spero che vi ricordiate ancora di me! (:
Il nostro libro è praticamente pronto, e l’idea è di presentarlo a Padova, il 24 ottobre! Come ricorderete, si tratta di una riorganizzazione dei temi che abbiamo sviluppato insieme nel corso di Design of Educational Environments dell’anno accademico 2023/2024, e include – oltre ai contributi dei docenti invitati – anche gli esercizi delle studentesse e degli studenti che hanno partecipato in quell’occasione.
Chissà, magari un giorno faremo anche un libro dedicato all’edizione 2024/2025, ma per ora avevamo pensato, in occasione del lancio, di allestire una mostra con i portfolio delle persone dell’anno scorso, così da includere tuttə nel progetto e dare visibilità e paternità collettiva al lavoro di tutti.
Per tutto questo, avrei bisogno di alcune cose urgenti per poter continuare con il processo. Vi prego di leggere con attenzione ciascun punto:
1) Sarebbe fantastico avere una picccola commissione organizzatrice per il lancio e per la mostra. Forse gli/le studenti/esse dell’edizione 24/25 potrebbero essere più interessati/e, visto che si tratta dei vostri lavori, ma chiunque potrà sarà di grande aiuto.
Se avete ancora portfoli con voi che vorreste presentare alla mostra, fatemi sapere.
Io arrivo in Italia solo il 16 ottobre, e se riuscissimo a organizzarci prima, poi potremmo sistemare tutto insieme in presenza, garantendo che tutto vada per il meglio.

2) I libri saranno stampati su richiesta, cioè verranno prodotti solo gli esemplari necessari affinché ognuno ne abbia una copia. Saranno inoltre disponibili per il download gratuito in formato PDF!
Per chi vuole una versione fisica, non ci sarà alcun guadagno: il libro avrà solo il costo di stampa, che dipenderà da quante persone ne vorranno una copia.
Il preventivo della casa editrice è di 1.850 euro per 100 copie e 3.200 euro per 200 copie.
Quindi il costo sarebbe di 18,50 euro se stampassimo 100 copie o 16 euro se stampassimo 200 copie.
Vorrei quindi sapere chi desidera una copia fisica, così possiamo calcolare il numero esatto da stampare.
Potete comunicarmelo rispondendo qui o su WhatsApp, indicando se la volete e quante copie desiderate, in modo che io possa inviare l’ordine in tempo alla stampa.
3) Vi chiedo anche di comunicarmi se sarete presenti all’evento: verreste il 24 (venerdì) mattina o sarebbe meglio il 25 (sabato)?
Sapendo quante persone parteciperanno, potremo organizzare meglio lo spazio e il cibo – che è il più importante. ;)

It’s been a while since we last spoke.. life has taken many turns, but here I am with some great news. Hope you still remember me! (:
Our book is practically ready, and the idea is to launch it in person on October 24th!
As you might remember, it’s a reorganization of the themes we developed together during the Design of Educational Environments course in the 2023/2024 academic year, and it includes – besides the contributions of our guest professors – the exercises of all the students who participated back then.
Who knows, maybe one day we’ll make another book for the 2024/2025 edition.
But for now, we thought that – on the occasion of the launch – we could also set up an exhibition with the portfolios from last year’s students, to include everyone in the project and give proper authorship to all.
That said, I need a few urgent things from you to move forward. Please read carefully each point:
1) It would be great to have an organizing committee for the launch and the exhibition.
Maybe the students from the 24/25 edition might be more interested, since the exhibit it’s about your work.
If you have portfolios with you that you would like to present at the exhibition, please let me know.
I’ll arrive in Italy only on October 16th, so if we could start organizing things before then, we could finalize everything together in person once I’m there.

2) The books will be printed on demand, meaning we’ll print exactly as many copies as we need so that everyone gets one. They will also be available for free download as a PDF.
For those who will want a physical copy, there will be no profit involved – the book will cost only the printing price, which depends on how many people want a copy.
The publisher’s estimate is €1,850 for 100 copies and €3,200 for 200 copies.
So the cost would be €18.50 per copy if we print 100, or €16 per copy if we print 200.
Therefore, I’d like to know who would like a copy, so we can calculate and print the right amount!

3) Also, could you please let me know if you’ll attend the event?
Would you come on Friday morning, October 24th, or would Saturday, October 25th be better?
Knowing how many people will come will help us plan the space and the food – that is the most important ;)
