Dear students,
MobiLab, the Digital Humanities Laboratory of the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World (DISSGeA), supports an initiative by one of our students, Barbara Martins Correa Marques, who intends to investigate, for her master’s thesis, how students in the Department use “general-purpose” artificial intelligence chatbots (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.).
We have taken this opportunity, as a laboratory, because both we and the entire teaching staff are naturally interested in understanding how these tools have influenced your academic lives. We have therefore assisted the student in formulating the questionnaire, identifying the key themes, and structuring the thesis, which will be supervised by Federico Mazzini.
The responses we hope you will provide to the questionnaire are, first and foremost, the result of Barbara’s work and will serve her analysis. MobiLab will be informed of the survey results only in aggregated and fully anonymous form, and will treat them as one indication among many for future teaching and research initiatives.
The questionnaire can be found at the following address: https://forms.gle/FRwpFtmdns9Pa4f16
Please complete it by 20 January 2025.
