Notes:
In the last century, the relation between aesthetics and the
theological thought found new ways of expression, opening new
directions for philosophy and making the intertwining between the
sensitivity, the artistic experience, the sacred and the
transcendence more complex. From Walter Benjamin to Hans Urs von
Balthasar, from Michel Henry to Jean-Luc Marion, from Emmanuel
Levinas to Luigi Pareyson, the “aesthetic” has been thought not
as the Other of the “theological”, neither as a direct continuity
from that dimension, but in a dialectical relation. This year, the course of Aesthetics will be focused on some crucial moments in the
contemporary age, in which this theme has been considered, discussing
the paradigms, the implicit backgrounds, and the results, by a
continuous reference to the texts.
