Assigned Curriculum: Scienze Pedagogiche

Brief personal and professional presentation and research interests: I am a tenured primary school teacher and a PhD student in Pedagogical Sciences at the University of Padua. My research focuses on the role of technologies in formal education, teacher identity, and the relationship between education and the private sector of educational technologies. Passionate about technology, I strive to explore its transformative potential in teaching and learning. Outside of academia, I love the mountains, cycling, and the broader world of education, constantly driven to innovate and deepen my understanding of pedagogical practices.

Abstract PhD project: The integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in education is transforming the role of teachers and reshaping the concept of digital competence within the teaching profession. The project aims to investigate the evolution of teacher identity in the GenAI era, focusing on its correlation with digital competence in initial teacher training. It examines how identity-focused training models can enhance digital competencies essential for modern education. Employing a qualitative design, the study incorporates a systematic literature review and a pilot experimental approach, comparing experimental and control groups of preservice teachers. Through interviews, focus groups, and artifact analysis, the project aims to synthesize a training module addressing teacher identity and digital competence. Ultimately, this research seeks to contribute to teacher education by providing insights and recommendations for preparing teachers to meet the challenges posed by evolving digital technologies in education.
