I am pleased to share with you an important event I am organizing together with the Labrief reserach group. I invite you to the International Conference "Sense and Sensibility in Social and Educational Work with Children and Families: Innovative Approach, Multicultural Perspective, and Practical Applications" on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 16:00, Padua.
This conference addresses a crucial question in the field of Social Pedagogy: How can social and pedagogical work balance the need for theoretical depth and regulatory compliance with the ability to respond emotionally to the needs of vulnerable children and families?
The event will showcase the result of intense international collaboration, recently published in the "Sense and Sensibility" volume.
The conference structure will try to be innovative:
- Tracing the development of this new approach
- Five focused exchanges on key application areas: integrated interventions, research function, child and family participation, community context valorization, and continuous professional development
- An afternoon stakeholder dialogue, including Ministry, Regional, Professional Order representatives, and publishers, addressing practical implementation challenges
We especially welcome the Italian community implementing the P.I.P.P.I., as we aim to promote a relational approach to social and pedagogical work, guided by the "principle of humanity" while maintaining professional rigor and methodological soundness.
